Powerwall by Tesla Installation

The Tesla Powerwall is a home energy storage solution used to store solar energy.

Tesla Powerwall installation in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo, CA.

Electricity keeps the world running, and without it, the modern life so many of us enjoy wouldn’t be possible. So, it’s critical to always have access to it and use it sustainably. Over the last few years, solar power technology has advanced in leaps and bounds, helping many worldwide generate renewable power.

Its accessibility to homes and businesses has never been easier thanks to products like Tesla’s solar panels and Powerwall, which convert and store solar energy. If you’re ready to explore the possibilities of solar technology, want to store energy from existing solar panels, or need a backup power source, the experts at Wicks Roofing and Solar can help you plan for and install a Tesla Powerwall system for your property.

What Difference Does a Tesla Roof and Powerwall Make?

Making the move to solar energy has many benefits, including:

  • Lower electricity costs: The Tesla Powerwall accumulates solar energy that you can use at peak demand times to reduce grid power costs.
  • Emergency power: As a storage solution, your Tesla Powerwall can provide your home with power if there is a blackout.
  • Reduced use of fossil fuels: A lot of grid energy still comes from burning coal and oil, so if you can use less grid power, you’ll be helping the planet.
  • Tax incentives and rebates: California offers several incentives for solar panels at the state level and a 30% federal tax credit

Our Tesla Powerwall Installation Services on California’s Central Coast

We offer Tesla Powerwall and roofing services to Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Atascadero, Malibu, Thousand Oaks, and the surrounding areas.

Our Services

We were one of the first companies in the United States to be certified as Tesla Solar Roof installers. These durable solar panels are made of tempered glass that’s engineered to withstand impacts and severe weather. A Tesla Powerwall will provide storage for the accumulated solar energy with 13.5Kwh of storage per unit, with each battery installation “stacked” on top of another, saving space on your wall.

We have the licensing, certification, and knowledge of local regulations to do a seamless Tesla Powerwall installation for you. We also offer Tesla Powerwall Plus, an advanced energy storage solution with a built-in inverter and higher power output.

Our Process

When we install a Tesla Powerwall and Solar Roof for your home, we want the process to be streamlined, personalized, and easy to follow for everybody involved. Our process includes consulting with you at your house to determine the best placement and what you expect of the system. Then, we can work on the proposal and give you costs. If you accept our proposal, we’ll schedule your installation and obtain the necessary permits.

When the scheduled installation day arrives, our team will be on time and in uniform to do the job. Once complete, we’ll test the system and answer your questions during our final walk-through.

Tesla Powerwall FAQ

Have questions before reaching out? Here’s a list of frequently asked questions regarding Tesla Powerwalls.

You can choose to set up your Powerwalls to be used for “peak shaving” and usage during peak times by not using a switch or “gateway.” This is the least expensive option that requires minimal wiring. You can also set up your Powerwall to allow you to “back up” your circuits during grid outages and provide “peak shaving”. This option requires a switch and requires more wiring.

Location of the Tesla Powerwall is best suited to be outdoors near your Main Service Panel if possible. Keep in mind that there is other equipment required on installations such as the “gateway” or switch, the solar inverter, and oftentimes an electrical panel. Wicks consultants will go over the best location of this equipment with you during the initial consultation.

The Tesla Powerwall Plus is a version of the Powerwall which includes the Solar PV inverter integrated into the unit. It makes for a much more aesthetic installation and has the added advantage of providing more potential output power to run items such as HVAC units on a single battery. The Powerwall Plus is a great option when installing solar at the same time as your Powerwall.

Wicks installs Tesla Powerwalls in Santa Barbara. We install Tesla Powerwalls in Malibu. We have installation services of Tesla Powerwalls in San Luis Obispo. Wicks installs Powerwalls all over the central coast. Give us a call to see if you are in our service territory. Don’t be fooled by out of town companies who wont be around to service your system years down the road.

This depends on many factors such as whether or not you are using it for backup power or “peak shaving”, location and condition of your Main Service Panel. Generally a non backup powerwall ranges from about $12,000 to $15,000. While a Powerwall with backup power will range in price from about $17,500-$23,000.00. Economies of scale exist with multiple units as well.

What our customers say:

“The guys (Justin Kline, Mike Highnote and Cody Santala) showed up on time, did the work involved with installing the powerwall for our solar system. They cleaned up after themselves and were pleasant and professional.”
