About the SPAN EV Charger
The SPAN Drive is a Level 2 EV charging station designed to pair with a SPAN Smart Electrical Panel. The SPAN Drive leverages the SPAN Panel’s intelligent energy management system to offer faster, more flexible charging.
The most significant consideration when getting this charger is that you can only use the SPAN Drive with a SPAN Smart Electrical Panel. To use the charger, you must have or install the SPAN Panel.

Dynamic Charging
The SPAN Drive can dynamically adjust its charging speed by taking some unused capacity from other home circuits. It helps you avoid an expensive electrical service upgrade, which is often necessary when adding a high-power load such as a Level 2 EV charger plug.
Integration with Home Energy
As part of the SPAN ecosystem, the Drive charger integrates with solar panels, home batteries, and other large electrical loads. You can prioritize charging with solar power, schedule charging during off-peak hours to save money, and manage energy consumption during a grid outage.
Charging Speed
It provides up to 11.52 kilowatts (kW) of power, or approximately a 41-mile range per charging hour, depending on the EV. Standard Level 2 chargers are often limited to a lower charging rate.
Remote Control and Monitoring
The SPAN Home app allows you to monitor and control the EV charging process, including locking the charger to prevent unauthorized use. In the app, you can track energy consumption and make smarter charging decisions.
EV Compatibility
The SPAN Drive uses the SAE J1772 connector, which is compatible with most EVs. An adapter is required for EVs with North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports.

The charger is wall-mounted and rated for both indoor and outdoor use.
